Lady Fairfax New York Scholarship
Opera Foundation Australia announces the 8th New York Scholarship, the successor of the Metropolitan Opera Auditions that commenced in 1963. Lady Fairfax AC OBE who is the founder and Life Governor of Opera Foundation Australia generously supports this Scholarship.
The New York Study Scholarship includes a recording opportunity with ABC Classic FM (to be completed within 18 months of their return to Australia).
The funds from the Scholarship of $43,000 are to include a return international airfare to New York (for return within 12 months), support for study costs (voice lessons, tuition, coaching etc) and a living allowance to enable the winner to undertake a six-week period of study in New York.
The public recital / competition is held at 4pm on the 29th July 2012 at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music - tickets available from June 2012
